Daytona Beach Bike Week: dates, events, where to stay, and how to prepare
A visitor guide to the spring motorcycle rally, from Main Street and the Speedway to scenic rides, camping, parking, and the preparations that make the trip easier.
When is Daytona Beach Bike Week?
The 86th annual Daytona Beach Bike Week runs Friday, March 5, through Sunday, March 14, 2027. That is ten days. The Daytona Regional Chamber of Commerce prints those dates on the official Bike Week site, and the Daytona Beach visitor bureau prints the same dates. Daytona International Speedway lists Bike Week at the track for March 5–14, 2027, with event times that vary.
| Planning question | What is confirmed |
|---|---|
| Next Bike Week | March 5–14, 2027 |
| Length | Ten days, Friday through Sunday |
| Where it spreads | Daytona Beach, the Speedway, Main Street, Midtown, Ormond Beach, and other spots in Volusia County |
| Official event site | officialbikeweek.com, run for the Daytona Regional Chamber |
| Primary racing venue | Daytona International Speedway |
| 2027 welcome center | Daytona Regional Chamber property, 126 East Orange Avenue, Daytona Beach |
The chamber’s travel guide says the welcome center is on the chamber property at 126 E. Orange Avenue. Visitors can get the official pocket guide and poster there, and chamber ambassadors help with places and services. The official calendar lists the welcome center for March 5–14, 2027. Daily opening hours were not on the pages checked for this guide. Confirm the hours before you make a special trip.
The chamber’s vendor information page still says “When is Bike Week?” and then prints February 27–March 8, 2026. That rally already happened. It was the 85th annual. Use March 5–14, 2027 from the homepage, the visitor bureau, and the Speedway when you reserve a room.
Start with one decision. Pick the races, rides, or street time you most want. Then choose dates, lodging, and how you will get around those spots. The rally is spread across the county. A day that tries to hit the Speedway, Ormond Beach, and Main Street in a hurry can spend more time in traffic than at the event.
Bike Week and Biketoberfest are different events
Bike Week is the spring rally. Biketoberfest is a shorter fall rally. The visitor bureau’s motorcycle rallies page lists the 35th annual Biketoberfest for October 14–17, 2027. The chamber travel guide prints the same fall dates. The Speedway lists its fall motorcycle weekend, Fall Cycle Scene, for those same October days. Fall hours, vendors, and promotions belong to the fall event. Do not copy them onto a March reservation.
The Daytona 500 is a separate February NASCAR race. A Bike Week ticket is not a Daytona 500 ticket.
Confirmed 2027 racing dates
These dates are the ones the Speedway had published on November 6, 2026. Gates, practice, and qualifying can still move. Open the ticket page for the race you are attending before you leave.
| Event | Confirmed date | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Daytona Supercross | Saturday, March 6, 2027 | Professional Supercross inside the Speedway. The Speedway’s Bike Week page lists it on March 6, 2027. |
| Daytona Short Track | Wednesday and Thursday, March 10–11, 2027 | Two nights of dirt-track motorcycle racing. The Speedway calls the series American Flat Track on the combined ticket. |
| Daytona 200 weekend | Thursday–Saturday, March 11–13, 2027 | MotoAmerica road racing and supporting classes on the Speedway road course. The Speedway’s home page lists the Daytona 200 itself on Saturday, March 13. |
| American Super Ticket | March 10–13, 2027 | One Speedway product covering flat track on March 10–11 and the MotoAmerica weekend on March 11–13. Read the purchase page for what else is included. |
MotoAmerica’s October 7, 2026 announcement calls the 2027 Daytona 200 the 85th running and the opening round of its Supersport championship, set for March 11–13. The 2027 entry list was still ahead of that announcement. Treat any older post about who will be on the grid as unconfirmed until the current entry list says so.
On the Daytona 200 ticket page, these are separate products from general admission:
- Cardo Parade Lap, March 12–13, 2027. The Speedway sells this as an upgrade that puts your own motorcycle on the track during the MotoAmerica weekend. It is not an open track day, and it is not something you get by asking at a gate. Read the equipment rules and whether a separate admission ticket is required before you pay.
- Two-seat ride-along, March 12–13, 2027. A different product. The Speedway says a professional racer does the driving, the guest must be 18 or older, and admission is required.
- Two-day grid pass, March 12–13, 2027. Pre-race grid access. It is listed on its own.
- Parking passes for Saturday, March 13, including infield parking and Lot 4. Parking is listed apart from the race ticket.
Which weekend should you choose?
| If you care most about | Build the trip around |
|---|---|
| Supercross | The first weekend, including Saturday, March 6 |
| The Daytona 200 | The second weekend, including Saturday, March 13 |
| Flat track and road racing | A stay that covers March 10 through March 13. Compare single tickets with the American Super Ticket. |
| Music and the street scene | The specific venues you want. A band from a previous year is not on this year’s bill until the current organizer lists it. |
The chamber says the official calendar is where submitted events are posted. Old flyers and last year’s social posts are history until the current page confirms them.
How Bike Week began
The chamber’s history page, linked from the 2027 travel guide, traces the rally to the first Daytona 200 on January 24, 1937. That race used a beach-and-road course south of Daytona Beach. Ed Kretz won on an Indian motorcycle.
World War II stopped the official race. It returned in 1947. The last beach-and-road Daytona 200 was in 1960. In 1961 the race moved to Daytona International Speedway. The modern rally grew up around that race, which is why the Speedway is still central even when the familiar photographs are of motorcycles on Main Street.
What happens during Bike Week?
There is no single fenced festival ground. The visitor bureau describes the 2027 rally as running from historic Main Street to Midtown, along A1A and the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop, and on to the Speedway, Teddy Morse’s Daytona Harley-Davidson, the U.S. 1 corridor, and other locations in Volusia County.
Main Street
Main Street is the street scene many first-time visitors picture: motorcycles, shops, food, and live music. The visitor bureau calls it a place to see and be seen, with dining and shopping.
The chamber’s 2027 vendor list includes Main Street businesses, among them Boot Hill Saloon at 300–310 Main Street and Main Street Live at 316 Main Street. Those listings describe outside sales and, for Boot Hill Saloon, outside live entertainment. They are not a concert schedule, and they do not state an age rule or a cover charge. Check the venue for the night you want to go. Park once, legally, and walk. Before you pay a lot, ask when it closes, whether you can leave and come back, and whether the price is for a motorcycle, a car, or a trailer.
Daytona International Speedway
The Speedway’s Bike Week page advertises a Motorcycle Marketplace that is free and open daily, with manufacturer displays, vendors, and free demo rides. The published names include Harley-Davidson, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, Indian, BMW, Triumph, Can-Am, Polaris, and others. The Speedway says the list can change.
Free entry to the marketplace is not free entry to Supercross, flat track, the Daytona 200, a grandstand, the grid, or a parade lap. Read the ticket you actually buy.
A demo ride can still require a motorcycle license, a minimum age or amount of experience, protective clothing, and a signed waiver. Bring riding gear even when your own motorcycle stays home. Florida’s minimum road rules do not automatically satisfy a manufacturer’s demo rules. Read that manufacturer’s 2027 sheet at the display.
Destination Daytona and the U.S. 1 corridor
The visitor bureau describes Teddy Morse’s Destination Daytona, in Ormond Beach, as a Harley-Davidson dealership with vendors, restaurants, retail, bars, and live entertainment. Treat it as its own stop. Compare the current hours, parking notes, and any posted shows before you drive up for a few minutes between downtown plans.
A visitor-bureau ride article also names the Iron Horse Saloon among motorcyclist stops on the U.S. 1 corridor, together with Destination Daytona. Ormond Beach is not a walk from Daytona’s Main Street. Check each venue’s current lineup and admission. Finish the riding part of the day before drinking, and decide the ride back before the first drink.
Midtown and downtown
The visitor bureau’s 2027 Bike Week page says Midtown has live music and vendors serving Southern and Caribbean food, and that Harley-Davidson will be there with newer bikes and a ride-in bike show. Downtown Daytona Beach is described separately, with shopping, places to eat, and the Riverfront Esplanade.
The rally does not have one mood. Racing, the marketplace, and a daytime ride can suit a family outing. A particular bar, show, or contest may be adults only. Check the activity you are actually attending. Some nightlife is 21 and older even when the street outside is open to everyone.
Do you need a ticket?
There is no single ticket for the whole county. Admission depends on what you choose.
| Activity | What to check |
|---|---|
| Speedway Motorcycle Marketplace | Advertised as free and open to the public. |
| Supercross, Short Track, Daytona 200 | Buy the admission for that event. The American Super Ticket is a bundle, not a pass to every upgrade. |
| Parade lap, grid pass, two-seat ride | Sold as their own products on the Daytona 200 page. |
| Bar concerts and special shows | Some are free. Others have a cover, a ticket, or a VIP charge. The venue decides. |
| Camping | Its own reservation. Ask what admission, if any, is included. |
| Parking | May be separate from the activity. The Daytona 200 page sells Saturday parking on its own. |
Buy from the organizer’s own sales channel. The Speedway ticket buttons go through its Ticketmaster pages. Do not send money to a social-media account because it says a show is sold out.
Where to stay
The useful question is which part of the rally you will visit most, not which listing has the word Daytona closest to the top. The chamber says the area has more than 200 properties and 12,000 rooms, including hotels, motels, bed-and-breakfasts, condo hotels, vacation rentals, and campgrounds or RV parks. Our Florida hotels page is a statewide starting point. The visitor bureau’s lodging pages are the local lists.
| Area to consider | Fits a plan built around | Ask this before you pay |
|---|---|---|
| Beachside, near Main Street | The street scene and nearby nightlife | Can you walk where you are going, and how much noise reaches the room? |
| International Speedway Boulevard | Races and the marketplace | Which entrance matches your ticket, and how will you get there? |
| Ormond Beach and U.S. 1 | Destination Daytona and northern stops | How far is the property from the venues you chose? |
| Daytona Beach Shores or Ponce Inlet | Rally days plus a quieter coastal base | What does the ride back look like after an evening event? |
| Port Orange or farther inland | A lower rate and a longer drive | Does the savings cover the extra travel each day? |
Those are planning choices. They are not promises about noise, price, or drive time. Before you pay, ask about motorcycle parking, trailer space, overnight security, deposits, minimum stays, cancellation deadlines, and taxes or fees. “Free parking” may mean one car space. It may not mean a truck, a trailer, and several motorcycles. For a vacation rental, get the rules on vehicle count, quiet hours, guests, and outdoor gatherings in writing from the property.
Camping and RV stays at the Speedway
The Speedway advertises five-day and ten-day Bike Week camping, including infield RV and tent sites, with access to restrooms, showers, and infield amenities. Areas differ. Some infield areas were already on a waitlist when the camping pages were checked for this guide, and that inventory moves. Reserve the type of site you actually need.
Before you book, confirm what fits (RV length, trailer, tow vehicle, tent, motorcycles), what utilities you get (electricity, water, sewer or pump-out), and what the rate includes (race admission, wristbands, parking, arrival day, and checkout). Read that campground’s own rules on where equipment may sit, which vehicles are allowed, pets, and quiet hours. Do not assume every site includes the same benefits. Details are on the Speedway’s Bike Week camping page. General Florida camping habits are on our camping tips page. That page is not the Speedway campground.
Trailer parking needs its own plan
The chamber keeps a 2027 trailer-parking contact list and says the list is updated. It is a list of places to call. It is not a reservation, and it is not a promise of security, a space, or a price. Confirm access hours, check-in, overnight rules, the maximum size, and whether you can pick the trailer up when you need it. Do not tow a large trailer into the busiest street area and expect a space to appear.
Getting around
The final 2027 street-closure and traffic-control map was not on the official pages checked on November 6, 2026. Check the City of Daytona Beach Bike Week page and local police notices closer to the rally. Follow an officer and a temporary sign when they disagree with a navigation app. A road that is open in February can be limited in March.
Read a “motorcycles” entrance for the vehicle you are actually bringing. Section 322.03(5), Florida Statutes, requires a driver license that authorizes motorcycle operation, with the right restrictions and endorsements. The same subsection says a person may operate an autocycle, as the statute defines one, without a motorcycle endorsement. A gate rule can still be narrower than the license rule. Confirm the current Bike Week policy for your vehicle. Do not borrow an autumn-event rule and apply it in March.
A practical day uses one area for a block of time: the Speedway, or Ormond Beach, or Main Street and downtown. Leave extra time around a race or a show with a fixed start. Pick a meeting place and save it on every phone in the group.
Flying in
The chamber’s vendor page describes Daytona Beach International Airport as a county airport about three miles southwest of downtown Daytona Beach and next to the Speedway. Compare the whole trip, including the ride from the airport and any motorcycle rental, with the cost of riding your own bike in.
Renting a motorcycle
Reserve with the rental company. Confirm the motorcycle class, the license they require, the deposit, who pays for damage, what coverage exists, mileage, and the cancellation rule. A rental confirmation does not mean your license authorizes that motorcycle. Under section 322.57(1)(g), a person who rides a motorcycle must pass a knowledge test and a skills test. The state then adds a motorcycle endorsement to another license, or it issues a Class E license restricted to motorcycle use. Visitors licensed in another state or country should confirm that their license will be accepted before they travel.
Scenic rides near Daytona
A good Bike Week day does not have to stay in rally traffic.
The visitor bureau’s 2027 Bike Week page points riders to the Ormond Beach Scenic Loop, scenic A1A, and historic Main Street. One bureau ride article calls The Loop a 23-mile route from Birthplace of Speed Park to the Tomoka River basin, with oak canopy and ocean, river, and marsh views. Another bureau itinerary calls a similar loop “30-plus” miles. Use the current map for the roads you will actually ride, and watch the speed limits as they change. Tomoka State Park appears on the bureau’s published loop notes as a possible stop. Park admission is separate from the ride.
The same bureau pages describe continuing north on A1A toward the Flagler beaches, and they name the Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, which the bureau and the chamber travel guide call the tallest lighthouse in Florida. Lighthouse tickets and hours are separate from the ride. Check the road before you leave, and leave enough time to come back without rushing a show you already paid for.
Agree on the route, fuel stops, the lead rider, and where you will regroup. Leave room to react. Single file is the better formation on a curve, a rough surface, or when you cannot see far. Do not rush a changing light or make an unsafe pass to keep the group together.
Florida motorcycle rules that still apply
Bike Week does not suspend ordinary traffic law.
| Topic | What the statute says |
|---|---|
| License | Section 322.03(5) says a person may not operate a motorcycle without a driver license that authorizes that operation, including the right restrictions and endorsements. Section 322.57(1)(g) is the knowledge test, the skills test, and the endorsement or motorcycle-only license. |
| Helmet | Section 316.211(1) requires protective headgear that meets Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218. Under subsection (3)(b), a person over 21 may ride without that headgear only when covered by an insurance policy providing at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries from a crash while operating or riding on a motorcycle. |
| Eye protection | Section 316.211(2) says a person may not operate a motorcycle without an eye-protective device of a type approved by the department. Narrow exceptions for the whole section are in subsection (3)(a), including an enclosed cab and a small, low-speed motorcycle described there. |
| Lane splitting | Section 316.209(2) and (3) prohibit passing in the same lane as the vehicle being overtaken, and prohibit riding between lanes or between adjacent rows of vehicles. Police officers and firefighters on duty are excepted from those two subsections. |
| Riding abreast | Section 316.209(4) says motorcycles shall not be operated more than two abreast in a single lane. Two abreast is a legal maximum, not the best formation for every road. |
The helmet exception is easy to misread. The person has to be over 21, and the policy has to provide at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries incurred as a result of a crash while operating or riding on a motorcycle. An unrelated card that does not provide that coverage does not meet the sentence in the statute. A helmet that fits and meets the federal standard is the safer choice even when the exception applies.
Alcohol affects balance, judgment, coordination, and reaction time. A short ride from a bar to a hotel is still a ride. Decide on a walk, a sober driver, or another way back before anyone drinks.
Prepare the motorcycle and the bag
Do the maintenance early enough to find a problem before departure day. Check the tires and cold pressure, wheels, brakes, throttle, lights, oil and other fluids, the drive belt or chain, and anything loose. Take a loaded test ride if the trip is long. Luggage should stay put, stay off the controls, and stay clear of hot or moving parts. Confirm that any roadside plan actually covers a motorcycle and the kind of tow you would need.
- Riding equipment. Helmet, approved eye protection, gloves, protective clothing, boots, rain gear, and a warmer layer for the ride back.
- Documents. License, registration, the insurance details that matter for the helmet rule if you are relying on it, rental papers, tickets, and reservation confirmations.
- Day supplies. Water, sunscreen, hearing protection, a phone charger, a power bank, medicines you need, and shoes you can walk in.
- On the bike. A lock that fits the bike, a spare key kept somewhere else, a tire-pressure gauge, and a small toolkit matched to the bike and to what you can actually fix.
Keep straps, laces, and bags off the controls. At the event, take portable valuables with you, photograph where you parked, and write down the plate and vehicle identification somewhere you can reach without the bike. Ask the lodging desk where motorcycles and trailers may sit overnight. For an emergency, call 911 and give the nearest street address, venue, or gate.
March weather
The visitor bureau’s published climate table, which it credits to the National Weather Service, lists March at about 74°F for the daytime high and about 54°F for the overnight low. Those are averages. They are not the forecast for March 5–14, 2027. A warm afternoon can still be a cool ride after dark, especially on A1A. Pack for a temperature drop, wind, and rain. Check the forecast the day before you travel and again each morning you ride.
If you hear thunder, leave the open area. A motorcycle, a tent, an open pavilion, or a vendor canopy is not a lightning shelter. A substantial building, or a vehicle with a metal roof and closed sides, is the shelter to have in mind before the storm reaches the event.
Sample plans
These are ways to shape a visit. They are not the official schedule. Change them for current hours, weather, tickets, and the race you came to see.
One day
Start at the free Motorcycle Marketplace or with a daytime stop at Destination Daytona. Pick one afternoon area. End with a walk on Main Street or one show you have already confirmed. On a race day, let the race set the clock and fit everything else around the gate and the start.
Three days
Day one: arrive, look over the motorcycle after the trip, and visit one nearby area. Day two: a morning scenic ride, then either the Speedway or Destination Daytona. Day three: the race, bike show, or music you ranked first, or Main Street and a calm departure. Leave an open block each day. A schedule with no slack has no room for traffic, weather, or a stop worth keeping.
Four days of racing
A March 10–13 stay lines up with both Short Track nights and the Daytona 200 weekend. Compare separate tickets with the American Super Ticket. Read the purchase details. One package does not automatically include every parking lot, campsite, grid upgrade, or hospitality option.
A longer riding trip
Give separate days to the coast, The Loop, the Speedway, Ormond Beach, and Main Street or Midtown. Add rest. You do not have to attend all ten days. Choose the dates that match the races or the streets you came for, and the budget you set.
Without a motorcycle
You can. Racing, the free marketplace, shopping, music, food, and the coast do not require you to operate a bike. A car still may not be allowed down a street that is limited during the rally. Plan parking and the walk.
Accessibility
Ask the venue before you buy if you need accessible seating, parking, or a way to move between areas. The Speedway publishes accessibility information and, on its fan guide, lists 1-800-748-7467 for ADA parking and arrival help. Guest Services on that guide is 386-681-6530. The reserved accessible-parking examples on the accessibility page are written around other major race weekends. Confirm the plan for your Bike Week event. A NASCAR parking map is not automatically the Bike Week map.
What to budget
There is no single price for “doing Bike Week.” A day at the free marketplace is a different trip from ten days in an RV plus several race tickets.
| Expense | Include |
|---|---|
| Lodging | Every night, taxes, cleaning or resort charges, deposits, and parking |
| Transportation | Fuel or flights, a rental if you use one, tolls, trailer storage, and a sober way back after nightlife |
| Activities | Race admission, covers, upgrades, and attraction tickets such as the lighthouse |
| Daily spending | Food, water, merchandise, and an emergency reserve |
Ask for the total you will pay, not only the nightly rate or the starting ticket price. Compare stay dates. Pay for the races and shows you will actually attend. Use the free marketplace when it fits. Skip a package whose extras you will not use. The Speedway sells race admission, upgrades, parking, and camping as separate lines, which is why each inclusion has to be read.
The beach is a separate set of rules
Bike Week does not cancel Volusia County beach rules. The county’s beach rules say alcohol and glass containers are not allowed. Vehicles are allowed only in designated areas. The posted beach speed limit is 10 mph, and the county says violators will be fined $116 and up. Driving and parking are prohibited in the conservation zone along the dunes. Tides and weather can close vehicle access. Beach-racing history is not permission to ride the sand wherever you like. Check the current ramps, hours, and tide limits on the county’s beach driving page before you plan to drive on the beach.
Vendors and small businesses
Selling merchandise, food, or entertainment during Bike Week takes more than a busy sidewalk. The chamber’s vendor page sends businesses to the City of Daytona Beach application at daytonabeach.gov/BikeWeek. It also posts an owner-authorization form and tent guidelines. The city contact printed there for application help is Rose Askew, Economic and Strategic Opportunities, 126 East Orange Avenue, Daytona Beach, office phone (386) 671-8125.
The top of that page is the 2027 master-plan application. The “When is Bike Week?” line farther down still shows the 2026 dates. Use the 2027 application, and check the year on every form. A payment to rent a patch of private property does not, by itself, supply the city permit, insurance, or electrical approval. Confirm the site is approved for the use you plan. Other cities in the county have their own vending contacts on that same chamber page. The right office depends on where the space sits.
A preparation timeline
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| As soon as the dates are chosen | Reserve lodging that fits the area you will use, settle the trailer plan, and buy the ticketed races you care about. |
| Several weeks before travel | Finish motorcycle service, check documents and gear, and reread the rental or camping terms. |
| The week before | Recheck the official calendar, the forecast, city traffic notices, parking instructions, and the group’s meeting place. |
| Each morning | Look over the bike, check the weather, pick a realistic set of stops, and decide how everyone gets back. |
The useful plan leaves room to enjoy the day. Ride within your ability. Ten days of events across the county do not all have to fit in one visit.
Questions
When is the next Daytona Beach Bike Week?
Friday, March 5, through Sunday, March 14, 2027. The chamber and the visitor bureau both list those dates for the 86th annual rally. The 2026 rally was February 27 through March 8 and is already over.
Is Bike Week the same as Biketoberfest?
No. Bike Week is the spring rally. Biketoberfest is a separate fall event. The visitor bureau lists the 35th Biketoberfest for October 14–17, 2027.
Is there one ticket for all of Bike Week?
No. The Speedway advertises the Motorcycle Marketplace as free to the public. Supercross, flat track, and the Daytona 200 need their own tickets. Camping, parking, grid access, and parade laps are sold separately. Individual venues set their own cover charges.
Can I ride my own motorcycle on the Speedway?
Only through a listed experience. For 2027 the Speedway sells a Cardo Parade Lap upgrade on March 12 and 13. That is not permission to arrive at a gate and ride the track.
Can an adult ride without a helmet in Florida?
Only if the person is over 21 and covered by an insurance policy providing at least $10,000 in medical benefits for injuries from a motorcycle crash. Eye protection is a separate requirement. Bike Week does not change section 316.211.
Can I ride on the beach during Bike Week?
Only in designated driving areas, and only under Volusia County rules. Alcohol and glass containers are not allowed on the beach. The rally does not waive those rules.
