Gulf Islands National Seashore Fort Pickens

The Gulf Islands National Seashore is a national seashore that runs along the Gulf of Mexico barrier islands of Florida and Mississippi. The islands that are a part of this seashore are Santa Rosa Island, Perdido Key, Petit Bois Island, West Petit Bois Island, Horn Island, East Ship Island, West Ship Island, and Cat Island.

The Fort Pickens area in Pensacola, FL offers a tour guided by a ranger or by their mobile app into a Civil War era fort. There is beach access through For Pickens into Langdon Beach which offers an accessible swimming area, restrooms, showers, and picnic tables under a pavilion. Swimming is allowed in all areas except the fishing area.
